How does it feel to be trapped alone with an AI echo of the one you love? A sci-fi horror story drawing from Lake Superior lore, "The Wreck of the Cecropia" is a reading of the log of an abandoned spaceship. The Lanternfly’s pilot, Jax recounts the days after her and her wife's encounter with the legendary shipwreck, Cecropia. After their encounter, Nixie begins to act strange, reprogramming the ship’s emergency AI backup to take control of the ship and leaving Jax alone.Read by the author, with ambient music and effects.
